August 2008

Well, school has started again. It is really weird because this year we have a grand total of ONE child in public schools. Spencer is opening a new high school this year --- the fourth new school he has opened (we never moved during his school years!) He will be attending Rocky Mountain High. He has three honors classes, is in choir and is planning to play basketball in the winter. He played with the JV traveling team this summer for school. He keeps very busy.

Lisa will be attending college this year and is very anxiously awaiting her departure date--September 4 is when she can check into the dorms at BYUI and school starts on the 8th. She is done with Scentsy but still works her RC Willey job (which she loves). She had her wisdom teeth out last Friday. She did well with the procedure but that girl DOES NOT like anesthesia. She was kind of pathetic coming out of it and it took a few days for her to return to normal. She tends to get very emotional coming out of anesthesia.

Lisa also gave riding the motorcycle a try. She went about two houses down the street and was done!

Kelli and Frankie have been busy with Jake, softball and Frankie's work at the pharmacy. They have also added yardwork to their agenda as they are living in and tending Steve and Sarah's old house while they are trying to sell it. Jake turned 6 months old last week. Where does the time go?

Matt started school again on Monday as well. He is getting into the thick of engineering courses and is enjoying the challenge. He and Liz are really enjoying being parents to their darling baby boy, Patrick. They absolutely adore that boy! (as do we!) I wish we could see them more often but we are fortunate enough to see them at least once a month. They are very happy and are working hard to get Matthew through school.

I am back to work at Scentsy (for my whopping 12 hours a week). I really enjoy just getting out for a little bit and having something that I have to do. I also had my first root canal last Thursday (the day before Lisa got her wisdom teeth out). Not too bad but definitely not fun!

Paul is riding his motorcycle to work almost every day. I know he really enjoys it and it really saves on gas, but I have to work hard not to worry too much about him. It is fun to go for rides with him, but I really prefer the short and close to home ones! (It still scares me a little.)

We did have a nice little trip to Salt Lake last weekend. We stayed with Kris and Chris (who always make us feel so welcome!) Amy had just had her baby boy the weekend before so we were lucky enough to be able to go see him. We also were able to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Dykman. Matt and Liz also stayed with us at Kris's and so it was really nice. It was a very quick trip but fun. We really have to go there sometime soon when we can really spend some time and see the other people who are very important to us in Utah!
Grandmas Susan and Jill!
